Last year, the super finals was taken out in the Lead World Cup resulting in multiple winners in three events where 2 - 4 females stood together on the top of the podium. Multiple winners will not be possible in 2012 as time will decide who will win and as a matter of fact, all eight finalists will be separated by time if they have equal results in all rounds.
For some reason, in the Euro Youth Cup, there will not be any count back based on the qualification results. The new rule was tested in Edinburgh the last weekend resulting that actually 50 % of the youngsters were ranked based on how fast they climbed.
The reason why it was used so often was also due to the fact that in 2012, IFSC will only measure, "controlled" and "used" holds. The scoring, "-", i.e. touched holds have been taken out.
The consequence for the changed rules are of course that it will be "Lead-Speed" for the Euro Youth and the youngsters will have to start training also to climb faster in order to be high ranked in the
