Violence continues despite Arab League condemnation

A decision by the Arab League to consider suspending Syria has done little to slow the pace of violence in the country. At least 14 people, including eight soldiers, were killed on Tuesday, according to human rights organizations.

The fighting increasingly resembles a civil war, with well-armed opposition groups, most prominently the Free Syrian Army, staging ambushes and roadside bombings.
