Revelations about the US Central Intelligence Agency's secret assassination programme are leading
to calls for a full-scale investigation.

A former senior official in the Bush administration has told Al Jazeera that the plan to target al-Qaida leaders was never put into action.

But as Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer reports, members of the US congress are angry that they were not told about its existence.
