Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan's President, is visiting Saudi Arabia, in a bid to get the Kingdom's help to mediate with the Taliban.

But the Saudis say that's not going to happen while the Taliban maintains links with Al Qaeda.

Al Jazeera speaks to Robert Lacey, an expert on Saudi Arabia and Saudi politics, who authored the book "Inside the Kingdom", about whether Karzai's attempt to get Saudi's help would work.
