Dmitry Medvedev has been re-appointed as Russian prime minister over winning approval from parliament.
Medvedev has served as president over the past four years.
He took over at the Kremlin in 2008 following a job swap with Vladimir Putin.
The move was engineered to sidestep a constitutional limit of two consecutive terms as head of state.
