Shuttered factories, closed offices and long unemployment lines have become a common sight in the United States. In November the US lost a half million jobs and across the country workers are often sent home with little notice and no severance pay.
But in a rare move, workers at a closed Chicago factory have refused to go home and are putting pressure on the bosses to give them compensation, as Al Jazeera's Sebastian Walker discovers.
