Documentary form based on confessions from an internet forum represents the starting point of this emotional and de-pathetised play, based on a fully private theme, but also a discreet relationship between personal and social, serious and comical…In Fertile Days the focus of interest is the motif of the desired, (un)realisable parenthood. Here it is also impossible to entirely separate the private from the political, personal from social: a deeply intimate theme – the question of parenthood, more precisely an attempt to realise parenthood though artificial insemination – is necessarily connected to social, economic, ethical relations.
