Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu thanked government ministers for approving the prisoner swap that led to the return of Gilad Shalit, and said now the government is ready to tackle the challenges that lay ahead. After two weeks of extraordinary public unity the government is prepared to deal with issues such as the recommendations submitted by the Trajtenberg Committee tasked with examining steps for economic reform, Netanyahu said. Netanyahu said a great deal of time will be devoted by the government in examining ways to reduce the high cost of living.
