Dan Arbell the deputy chief of mission at Israel's Embassy in Washington was relieved of his duties after he confessed to leaking sensitive information to the press. On Tuesday Israel's Foreign Ministry director general Rafael Barak sent out a memorandum to all ministry employees informing them of the decision to terminate Arbell's employment. Barak said Arbell had unauthorized contacts with journalists and therefore professional measures were taken against him. Arbell reportedly leaked information to the press over two and a half years ago. He has been employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over 20 years.
