Israeli government officials said the possibility of an Israeli mission at NATO headquarters in Brussels is still being considered despite recent claims by Turkey saying it had vetoed the initiative. The option is still a realistic one and is being considered by Israel's Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry, Israeli officials said. On Sunday night Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Ankara had succeeded in blocking an Israel attempt to open an office at NATO's headquarters. Israel has significantly boosted its cooperation with NATO in recent years and participates regularly in workshops and seminars. Last year the Israel Navy and NATO signed an agreement to deploy a missile ship with Active Endeavour a NATO mission to patrol the Mediterranean to prevent weapons smuggling and terror.
