Thousands of pages of journal entries and paintings by the Nazi angel of death Dr. Josef Mengele are to be auctioned off this week in the United States. According to reports 33 years after Mengele's death in a drowning in South America where he fled after World War II, documents he signed as well as paintings and drawings will be sold to the highest bidder. The material stems from the years 1960 to 1975 when Mengele lived in Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil and includes autobiographical details, stories, transcriptions of conversations and historical remarks Last month the Simon Wiesenthal Center in the United States purchased a historical letter written by Adolf Hitler for the sum of $150,000.
