In a statement released Tuesday evening, the Israel Police explained why a video clip showing the last moments of Prison Services cadets killed in the Carmel fire was released only this week. The video was not released earlier in order not to cause pain to the families of the cadets, who had asked that it not be made public. The clip went public on Tuesday after it was presented in the Knesset's Internal Affairs committee. The families of fire victims and officials researching the disaster had already seen the video.
