As the Lebanese government postponed electing a new president for the eighth time, a bomb blast rocked the town of Baabda east of Beirut this morning, killing the candidate that was to be appointed the future Chief of Staff of the Lebanese Army along with three others There were those who speculated that Fatah al Islam was behind the attack as Francoise al Hajj who was killed in the bomb blast commanded over the Lebanese Army troops who battled against Fatah al Islam in the Naher al Bared refugee camp.12/12/07
