STORY: New footage released by the Italian police on Saturday (January 21) shows what remains of the interior of the Costa Concordia cruise liner, more than a week after the vessel hit rocks and capsized last week off the Tuscan island of Giglio.
Divers can be seen swimming through the vessel, surrounded by passengers' luggage, as they continue the search for the 21 who are still missing.
More than a week after the 114,500-tonne ship ran aground and capsized off the Tuscan coast, hopes of finding anyone alive have all but disappeared and the cold waters around the vessel have become rougher, with worse weather expected at the weekend.
Attention is now turning to how to remove some 2,400 tonnes of fuel from the vessel, which lies on its side on a rocky shelf in about 20 meters of water off the little island of Giglio and which could slide off its resting place.
