Home Depot Foundation Gives $500K to Joplin Recovery Fund; Ethical Sourcing Forum Adds Special Session with BSR's HERproject - CSR Minute for January 20, 2012
  • 12 years ago
The Home Depot Foundation has announced a $500,000 grant to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ Joplin Recovery Fund. The grant was made in conjunction with the re-opening of the Home Depot’s store in the Missouri town, which was destroyed along with much of the community by tornadoes in May 2011. The Home Depot Foundation has donated $1 million to date to local nonprofits.

The Ethical Sourcing Forum has added a new feature to its upcoming March conference: a special session with BSR’s HERproject, a program to provide women’s reproductive health education in the workplace. The HERproject aims to leverage buyers, factories, and nonprofit health service providers to increase the health knowledge of female factory workers, and deliver business efficiencies and cost savings to participating factories. The session will explore the business case for women’s empowerment and HERproject return-on-investment studies
