As usual, China pulled out all the stops to try and prevent him meeting President Barack Obama. Then protested about the meeting and how it "hurt the feelings of the Chinese people" after failing. The meeting came as China celebrates 60 years since its "peaceful liberation" of Tibet. And is likely to lead to a frosty reception for Hillary Clinton when she visits China next week. While Tibetans can look forward to another 60 years of progress and increased standards of living.
