China's Beijing-Shanghai bullet train line is due to come back into service, starting this week. Operation of 54 trains on the route had been halted, since equipment failures in August led to safety concerns.

Those concerns followed a major crash in July, on another rail line passing through the city of Wenzhou. That crash left 40 dead, and led to widespread criticism of China's ruling Communist Party.

Service will resume gradually, with all 54 trains running by early December.
