Making Business Introductions

Making Business Introductions - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. In business, introductions are based on authority, not gender. So, if you are meaning to introduce two people, you state the name of the person with the most authority first and then, you say the person with less authority second. For example, 'Mary, CEO, this is Bob, Manager.' Now, there is an exception to the rule and that is; when you are introducing the client to anyone in the organization. The client is our bread and butter, right? So, we want to honor that person by saying their name first. For instance, 'Joe, client this is Mary, CEO.' If two people are equal, it does not matter whose name you say first. Now, the other thing about a business introduction, actually, any introduction is, do not feel like you need to get fancy and say, 'I had like to have the pleasure of introducing. . . ' or 'my honor...' or anything like that. Just say, 'this is. . . '
