We're a very hand intensive society; we use our hands all day long. Especially with manufacturing, and construction, and all of those really repetitive hand intensive activities: we see things wear out, we see injuries.

I think everyone has heard about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, for example. It's a pretty common thing as people get older, and depending on the job, it's totally curable. I mean it just simply goes away; you get the pressure off the nerve and it's no longer a problem.

Trigger fingers is another thing that happens frequently; people get these fingers that catch and pop. There is also arthritis at the base of the thumb.
