8-8-11 Representative Kathy Haigh interview
  • 13 years ago
Rep. Kathy Haigh's courteous interview after the Shelton fund raising dinner for Senator Cantwell held in Xinh's restaurant winds down. She inquires as to why protesters gathered now after Adage had been sent packing, apparently unaware of the new incinerator permit Simpson seeks or its recent history of victimizing residents by discharging its Dioxin waste directly into the City's sewage treatment plant, hence into Shelton Harbor and Oakland bay where the Dioxin contamination remains among the worst in Puget Sound with 902ppt sediment samples proximate to Simpson's downtown harbor operations.

Ms. Haigh admitted ignorance of the federal government study finding Simpson to be responsible for the above facts in the mid-80's. About the only bright spot was Kathy's assertion Cantwell supported a cleaner Puget Sound and water quality in general. How that squared with the Senator's support of the biomassacre of the region's forests to generate bio-fuel for jets wasn't discussed.
