A Taiwanese military general has been sentenced to life in prison for spying.

According to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense, Lo Hsien-che was found guilty for providing sensitive information to a Chinese agent five times in exchange for bribes.

The Chinese regime recruited Lo as a spy in 2004. Lo was in charge of the army telecommunications and electronic information department.

Officials say Lo can appeal the sentence.
