Taken at DD 16/17 July 2011 Soundtrack: 'Snakebite' by Gabby Young and Other Animals
The 112 mile night ride from London Fields to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast, held annually on the nearest Saturday night to the July fullmoon.
Barry Mason (1950 - 2011) was a prominent cycle campaigner and one of the organisers. He sadly died in a swimming accident in Spain in June. On the beach I spoke briefly to organiser Patrick Field who was heartened to see many toasting Barry on their arrival. Despite not knowing him, I thought it fitting to mention him here.
My first DD and I hope not my last - it was the most incredible experience.
