Watch all the videos at http://www.goldmoney.com/money-history. Marion Mueller (AEMP), in collaboration with the GoldMoney Foundation, visits the Bundesbank's Geldmuseum (Money Museum) in Frankfurt and looks at the history of the monetary use of salt from the time of the Phoenicians, to China and Africa. She explains how packed salt bars were used as money and how their value increased with distance from the salt mines, showing again the importance of scarcity in giving money value.
