Demonstrators clash with police infront of the Greek parliament on June 29, 2011 during a protest part of the 48-hour general strike against the bankruptcy-threatened government which is desperately trying to push through sweeping austerity cuts. Amid angry street protests, MPs approved 28.4 billion euros ($40.7 billion) in spending cuts, unlocking a 12-billion-euro payout from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
