Having chosen a series of traumatic themes from the recent and earlier political past of Serbia and the region, Oliver Frljić continues his research of autonomous authorial esthetics by the way of an unesthetisised, intentionally theatrically reduced and provocative project Cowardice. The attraction of the project, based on a documentary approach and shaping of the Subotica Theatre actors’ confessions, is not exclusively reflected in his social and political involvement, but also in the development of an authentic authorial procedure very close to the concept of post-direction, i.e. new theatrical practices.
