METAMORPHOSES / METAMORFOZE
Text: after Ovid, Aleksandar Popovski and Jelena Mijović
directed by Aleksandar Popovski

Both narrative and formally structural features of the play originate from the title itself, from the concept of transformation. In the thoughful and visually attractive set design by the Numen group, director Aleksandar Popovski creates a stage text on the theme of metamorphosis of living beings and love, their constantly different manifestations. Just like some other plays included in the selection (Born in YU, Market Day...), with their succesful communication with the audience Metamophoses greatly challenge the binary and wrong division into a theatre with artistic/elitist ambitions on the one hand, and the one that primarily establishes a contact with the audience, on the other.
