STERIJINO POZORJE FESTIVAL 2011 - Novi Sad, Serbia - Atelier 212 Theatre, Belgrade - MARKET DAY / PAZARNI DAN text by Aleksandar Popović directed by Egon Savin
In the classically directed, dynamic and skillfully shaped play, once again Popović’ obsessions – the relationship between the government and the little man, the influence of politics on the creation of the individual fate, history dominating over personal visions, and above all dealings with mental particularities and decreased possibilities of living in a closed environment – have inspired Savin to find contemporary elements in the work of our classical author. Basing a significant segment of his procedure on actors’ creations, with this play the director contributes to the preservation and stage cultivation of our theatrical legacy.
