Beginning Shooter's Guide: Stage Planning

Smoothness equals speed on the time clock. So how can you iron out some of those kinks that slow you down? Stage planning is the answer.

Mental Prep Work
Make sure when you are up to shoot that you fully understand the stage - if there are any lines to remember or props to use, where you may have to move during the stage, and the shooting pattern / number of shots you will fire. Bring a few extra rounds in case you have to reload on the clock. All this will take is just a few extra moments before you shoot to mentally focus and plan out the stage in your mind. The payoff of this small investment is confidence, which will allow you to shoot without hesitation when the timer sounds.
