Although both devices look almost entirely identical, there are a few subtle differences between the Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4. Some of the buttons and ports had to be moved slightly to accommodate a CDMA chip to operate on Verizon's network.

The biggest physical change to was the mute switch and volume controls which had to be moved further from down from the edge.

In addition, notches for the antenna and the 3.5 millimeter jack have been moved as well, which presents an interesting dilemma when attempting to use cases with precise cutouts made for AT&T's version of the iPhone 4.

Other accessories like battery packs and antenna bumpers designed to fit around the AT&T's version of the iPhone won't fit on Verizon's due to this issue as well.

Verizon's iPhone 4 also doesn't fix antenna issues from the previous model, so, even though the case selection may not be as diverse as the previous model, I still recommend you purchase a case or bumper to prevent any issues with the antenna.
