Malaysia is being drench by intense rains... forcing tens of thousands to evacuate. Three days of rain inundated homes and businesses, and also caused road and rail damage.
Malaysia is being hit by the worst floods it’s seen since 2006. At least three people have lost their lives, with 50,000 other evacuated.
In Johor, one of the worst hit states, homes and businesses were inundated after three days of rain.
Links to a number of towns are cut.
Floods and mudslides have also affected railroad services with neighboring Singapore.
The floods have disrupted the travel plans for commuters heading back to their hometowns ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday.
Electricity supplies were disconnected in some areas to prevent short circuits and accidental electrocution.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak visited the town of Segamat in northern Johor State, where about 40,000 displaced residents are seeking refuge in relief centers.
The water has started to recede in some areas, and the Malaysia Meteorological Department said the weather is likely to improve within the next two to three days.
