Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have become proud parents to a baby boy.
This is the first child for the couple who married in a low-key ceremony last July, in the Carribean.
Cruz and Bardem started dating in 2007 after working together on the Woody Allen movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Bardem received the news that he had been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Biutiful on the same day his son was born.
The Spanish actor recently won the International Star award at the opening ceremony for the Palm Springs International Film Festival and took the opportunity to thank his wife Penelope Cruz.
Bardem dedicated his award to Cruz, saying: "I want to share this with my love, with Penelope, for the wonderful human being that she is. She is a gift."
The couple's new baby was born in Los Angeles, but the Spanish couple have yet to reveal whether he will have a Spanish or American name.
