USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) test fires it's CIWS (Phalanx)

PACIFIC OCEAN (April 28, 2010) A Phalanx Close-in Weapons System (CIWS) is test fired aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Abraham Lincoln is operating off the coast of Southern California conducting the tailored ships training assessment, a 25-day training exercise designed to prepare a ship for prompt and sustained combat operations at sea.
