Amanda Holden confirms 'no X Factor next year'

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has confirmed what many suspected - that there will be no X Factor series in the UK next year.

In an interview at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2010, the 39-year-old actress and presenter let slip her inside knowledge of Simon Cowell's plans.

"There's loads of changes afoot next year, I know that there's no more X Factor - well, at least for next year", she said.

The X Factor is set to launch in the US in September next year, and it is thought Simon Cowell is keen to focus on the American series.

The rumour is that the UK series would be shifted forward by six months, starting in March 2012.
