Usain Bolt continued his domination of global sprinting when he won the 100 metres at the Diamond League meeting in Paris.

Asafa Powell, Bolt's Jamaican team-mate, was quicker out of the blocks but the triple Olympic champion got into his stride to come through and win in a meet record of 9.84seconds in only his second race back following injury.

Powell was second, 0.07secs adrift, with fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake third in a personal best of 9.95.

Bolt said afterwards: "I didn't feel as powerful as I wanted to out of the blocks. I need to go home and work on that."

Powell added: "I'll get him next time around. It was just a bad race tonight but it will get better."
