The Queen has praised the United Nations and urged it to stay true to its goals of ensuring "security, prosperity and dignity" for all.
The Queen's comments came in a historic speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations - the first time she has stood before the 192-member body for 53 years.
She praised the UN's achievements since its formation in 1945 as "remarkable" but also highlighted new challenges that have grown in recent decades - terrorism and climate change.
The Queen arrived at the UN's headquarters in New York to address the delegates after a tour of Canada, just as she did on her first invitation to speak to the General Assembly in 1957.
Speaking on a podium below the famous UN logo, she said: "For over six decades, the United Nations has helped to shape the international response to global dangers.
"The challenge now is to continue to show this clear and convening leadership while not losing sight of your ongoing work to secure the security, prosperity and dignity of our fellow human beings."
