4 weeks before this event, We decided to train together a couple times a week and complete our first Triathlon of the season. The distance was 400m Swim, 11 Miles Bike and 2 Mile run. You learn something new every race and you hope to improve on it each time. My very first and only Triathlon was in Indiana in 08, Open water, 800m Swim, 18 bike, 5k run.. I learned that i can complete one,Triathletes are a great bunch and open water is my nemesis... Oh .how did i forget the last one! lol This being the first Triathlon video, i just wanted to show the enjoyment around training and completing an event. Jack at Ironheadrp.com puts on a great race, We had a good time and really increased our performance on individual events.I know my running has improved and i actually just PR'd a run this past Monday.Lezlie took her 13mph average to 16mph and rising. Jason was able to do Saturday and Sunday back to back beating his time the following day by 3+ minutes. We all plan to keep training and improving our times. I heard someone whispering about Kansas 70.3 next year... ummm that's a lot of kool-aid to drink! but i'm pretty thirsty....... We used the Alter G (www.alter-g.com), which i cannot speak enough about. I was able to set the speed to equal a 10 minute mile and as i tired out lower my body weight to stay at that pace. If your injured there are a whole plethora of uses. I'd truly recommend if your in the DFW area to contact Spring Valley and look into it. The Computrainer was another great tool at Spring Valley Chiropractic and we were able to train on some of the IRONMAN courses. It really lets you focus on your riding technique and challenges you to never stop spinning, so you learn to push and pull using all of your muscle groups.
