Freddy Meingold and Spencer Ragusa have less than 24 hours to travel from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to retrieve Freddy's grandfather's body from a Las Vegas casino and escort it to New Jersey for burial (according to 'the ancient Hebraic burial tradition'). Too late to catch a commercial flight and with interstate roads flooded, they beg Spencer's ex-girlfriend Erica to fly them to Vegas in her plane. She wants no part of them but her volatile boyfriend Pericles Kulakundis is moved by their tale. The four set off on a wacky series of adventures involving an escaped convict, an old girlfriend, her jealous husband, a beleagured Las Vegas police force and an extra dead body causing no end of confusion.
