Madonna wanted for American Idol?

It is claimed American Idol bosses are aiming high for the next season of the TV talent show. Reports say they are hoping to sign up Madonna.
The Queen of pop is said to be the first choice to replace judge Simon Cowell who is waving goodbye to the programme after this season.
If that fails, they hope the singer, 51, will join the tenth series as a mentor.
Ellen Degeneres joined Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson on the panel this year. But since it started in 2002, ratings have hit an all time low.
Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks are some of the stars who have won American Idol, and gone on to forge successful careers.
