Best Selling Author Rick Riordan Launches New Fantasy Book Series Can lightning strike twice for best selling author Rick Riordan? The creator of the blockbuster Percy Jackson and the Olympians introduced readers to his new series, The Kane Chronicles, in the world renowned Egyptian wing of the Brooklyn Museum. The eagerly-awaited new series launched with a one million first printing of The Kane Chronicles, Book One: The Red Pyramid. The new fantasy brings ancient Egyptian mythology to life in a vivid modern-day setting. When a magical accident unleashes the Egyptian gods on the modern world, siblings Carter and Sadie Kane discover that they are the only ones who can put things right. Last summer, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series concluded with its fifth and final installment. The Lightning Thief, the first book in the Percy Jackson series, was made into a feature film that released worldwide in February 2010.
