Made from Coca leaves the drink Coca Colla joins an ever growing list of products made from the Coca bush, also known for its use as the base of Cocaine powder. Bolivia allows the growing and use of Coca bush in just under 30,000 acres of land in the Yungas area of the Andes Mountains for traditional uses and is set to expand its use to other products and finding other legitimate uses for the plant. The Coca leaf has been used in the Andes mountain region for thousands of years. Coca Colla is a dark caramel coloured sweet drink made from Coca leaves, the drink is being sold in 500ml bottles for around £1. Coca-Cola has refused to comment on the new drink.
