Northern Territory. After a 3-day organised camping tour of the Litchfield and Kakadu national parks, Jason and I got an early morning flight from Darwin to Alice Springs. We landed at 9:20, picked up our house on wheels for the next 4 days (a trusted Toyota 4x4 Bushcamper), got some food (steaks, veg, bread, water, snacks and some green cordial!!), and set out for the West MacDonnell range on our way towards Kings Canyon. We stopped at Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek Big Hole, Glen Helen (where a travelling Frenchman saved the day and sold us beer - merci monsieur!!!), and we finally reached Redbank Gorge's isolated camp in time to watch the sun set. Dinner consisted of big steaks cooked on the bbq, in a pitch black night but under a million stars. The sky was amazing and that spot was ours alone that night. Amazing. What a great first day in Australia's Red Centre!!!!
