New York—home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels.

And if sleep is your main priority after you check in, Benjamen’s has a sleep concierge to make sure everything is “dreamy” for the guests.

[Anya Orlanska, Hotel’s Sleep Concierge]:
“Three days before they arrive we send our guests an email, asking about their pillow preferences.”

Guests can choose from 12 pillows, including an anti-snore; satin, said to reduce wrinkles; and the Swedish memory designed by NASA.

Anya says their I-pod pillow is popular with teenagers.

[Anya Orlanska, Hotel’s Sleep Concierge]:
“It has speakers built inside the pillow. So you can sleep on your pillow not touching anything, just still nice soft pillow, and you here your music from far behind.”

This week is National Sleep Awareness Week. On top of the usual pillow menu the Benjamin has a nightly pajama party, champagne, and tasty delights that can help you sleep better.

But all-year-round guests can order special sleep-promoting food, like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on banana bread. Anya says this combination can help your brain produce serotonin.

[Anya Orlanska, Hotel’s Sleep Concierge]:
“Serotonin slows down the nerves in your brain. That helps you sleep a little better.”

Sleep researchers have associated good sleep patterns with increased productivity and job satisfaction.
