In the parable of Lazarus and Dives, Dives asks Abraham even for a drop of water to relieve his sufferings in Hell, but the time for mercy had passed. He had many opportunities during his life to give mercy to Lazarus and so gain mercy from God, but he did not. Let us take heed. Ave Maria!
