Bear was abandoned in the Louisiana woods when he was about 8 weeks old. At that same time, a Louisiana black bear had moved down the river and was in the same woods. Our neighbors were walking along the woods to see if they could spot this black bear and found a puppy that was left in a cardboard box. They couldn't keep him so we agreed to take the "Bear" that they found in the woods. He has done this "suckling" ever since. It seems to be like his pacifier. When he gets tired, scared or stressed, he'll find a quiet spot to suck on his toy. Now he is 3 years old and 75 pounds but he still needs his hedgehog toy to unwind.
