Chinese Starch Factory Explosion Kills 13

Thirteen people are dead with 50 injured in an explosion at a starch factory in China’s northern Hebei Province Wednesday. Five people are still reported missing.
Nine of the injured are in critical condition.
The explosion ripped through a workshop in the factory in Qinhuangdao City around 4pm local time.
A company spokesman says an initial investigation revealed the accident was caused by a dust explosion.
The company, Qinhuangdau Lihua Starch Co. Ltd., has been ordered to halt production.
The privately run company, which employs 2,800 workers, produces mainly starch and glucose.
