Australian Hockey Team Arrives in New Delhi

The Australian hockey team arrived in New Delhi on Monday amid tight security to participate in the World Cup Tournament.

Indian police have promised "foolproof" security for the men's hockey World Cup after a bomb blast in Pune City raised security concerns for visiting teams.

Security agencies boosted security for the players after India's media reported threats to sporting events made by an arm of Al-Qaeda.

The measures were also aimed at calming the players who were hesitant to compete in India following that bomb blast in Pune earlier this month.

The bombing was the first big militant strike in India since the Mumbai attacks in November 2008.

New Delhi is hosting the 12-team hockey World Cup from February 28th to March 13th.
