USS Independence (LCS 2) commanding officer read their order

MOBILE , Ala. (Jan. 16, 2010) Cmdr. Michael Riley, gold crew commanding officer, and Cmdr Curt Renshaw, blue crew commanding officer, read their orders and assume command of the littoral combat ship USS Independence (LCS 2) during the ship's commissioning ceremony. The 417-foot Independence will be outfitted with reconfigurable payloads, called mission packages, which can be changed out quickly. These mission packages focus on three mission areas: mine counter measures, surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare. (U.S. Navy video/Released)
