00:02From Gerald J. Ford Stadium, SMU gets back into the win column with a 51-28 victory over Virginia Tech.
00:10The Mustangs improved to 7-2 and 5-2 in ACC play, keeping their conference championship hopes alive.
00:17Quarterback Kevin Jennings finished with 350 passing yards, four touchdowns, three of those going to Yamir Knight for 103 yards
00:25of his own.
00:26SMU's offense had 569 yards for the night, and the defense, one sack and an interception.
00:31Afterwards, we spoke with Mustang's head coach, Rhett Lashley, and he was asked about Kevin Jennings' performance.
00:36And he says, I'm running out of ways to tell you guys that this guy is one of the best
00:41quarterbacks in America.
00:42He's amazing.
00:44I've run out of ways to tell everybody he's literally one of the best quarterbacks in America.
00:48So, maybe that it was the Friday night game and all the people are sitting around the country waiting to
00:52play tomorrow and watched it.
00:53But, like, it was almost flawless.
00:57When I asked Jennings about how this team's chemistry played a role in the recent success, he gave all of
01:03the credit to his teammates.
01:04Just how I run game, how we attacked it today.
01:07Our line played the bus off and gave it all they had no matter what.
01:10Even in the faster game, it was giving me time back there to sit and make the right read.
01:14So, definitely give all the credit to the line.
01:17Next up, SMU host No. 16, Wake Forest, for another important ACC matchup.
