I Catfished My Rival EP 1 explores a playful romantic deception in which the person being tricked knows more than the person behind the disguise.
Ryan creates a female identity called Riley to trick his rival Blake into falling for him. He believes the disguise will help him achieve his goal, but Blake recognizes Ryan's mole during their very first meeting.
Instead of exposing him, Blake decides to play along. This unexpected choice allows the deception to continue while Ryan gradually develops genuine feelings.
The irony is that Ryan thinks he is controlling the situation, while Blake has known the truth all along. Rather than confronting him immediately, Blake waits for Ryan to confess his real identity.
With its modern campus setting, secret identity, catfishing plot, and romantic tension, this story offers a refreshing rivals-to-lovers dynamic.
