00:00Mr. Pallavi, thank you very much.
00:03What are your requests to the European Parliament of the European Union in your visit?
00:08It is important for the European Union to realize what's at stake now,
00:14that the regime is extending its reach to threaten now the national security of respective member countries of the European
00:23Union
00:23and operating now on the European soil.
00:25The continuation of this policy of appeasement have allowed the regime to be able to do that.
00:31And I think if there's not a major shift of policy vis-à-vis the regime in terms of trying
00:37to reach a compromise by means of appeasement that has failed,
00:40we have to focus on the ultimate alternative being for this regime to disappear.
00:45At the hand of the people of Iran themselves, but they need some support from the outside world.
00:49So specifics of how can the European Union help our cause is not so far different as we see, for
00:56instance,
00:57right now in the theater of conflict in the Ukraine, what was done in terms of sanctions against the Russian
01:02leadership,
01:03and also what kind of support technologically can they give to the Iranian people.
01:07And the most vital element for us has been Internet connectivity.
01:11That has always been our first ask.
01:13And there are some specific areas where they can help us with.
01:16And that has been the main theme of our conversation at this stage.
01:20And then beyond that, what can ultimately lead to a possibility for Iranians to come back to the streets for
01:27the final uprising?
01:28Do you fear a U.S. disengagement from Iran now with the mid-term election and with Trump weakened by
01:36the result of the U.S. mid-term election?
01:39Well, as I was telling you earlier during the press conference, that I think that there are many Democrats in
01:44America
01:45who also believe that the Iranian regime is a major problem.
01:48It threatens national security for the U.S. and their interests, but also look at the region and the consequences
01:54of this regime,
01:55continue a policy of blackmail by taking hostages or disturbing maritime traffic through its proxies
02:01and helping the Houthis in the conflict that exists right now in the other straits.
02:05So ultimately, whether or not the conclusion is that the job needs to be finished
02:10may be a question that they all have to explore irrespective of the composition now of the House and the
02:15Senate back in the U.S.
02:17And my argument has always been irrespective of what political party is there,
02:21that the question of national security and liberty for Iranians transcends political groupings.
02:27And we've been talking to both sides of the aisle in America and, of course, as many diverse political parties
02:33here in Europe.
02:33So my ask from the EU countries is irrespective of your own political compositions,
02:40the cause of liberty and the cause of freedom in Iran and what will lead to ultimate stability as opposed
02:46to instability
02:47depends ultimately on Iranians being able to free themselves from this regime.
02:51And that should be their main policy focus, but also what can concretely be done to actually be an element
02:57that adds more pressure on the regime that could be extending economic sanctions.
03:01But parallel to that, also have more direct support for the Iranian people,
03:06which we believe in that momentum will cause even more defections from the regime.
03:10And that's what will lead ultimately to the regime's collapse and the liberalization of Iran.
03:15The response to the regime, the closing of the Strait of Wormuz,
03:21which just sparked a spike in the energy price, which is one of the main worries for Europeans.
03:27What's your message to Europeans about that?
03:29The message is that when the animal is wounded and will seek revenge, you allow it to continue to live.
03:36And that's exactly what's at stake here.
03:38This regime has shown that it's willing to go all the way for its own survival,
03:43not just by silencing its own citizenry, but by now not only threatening maritime traffic,
03:50but attacking with missile attacks countries in the area and perhaps even take action beyond that.
03:55You simply cannot allow this kind of terrorist regime to continue to survive and exist.
04:01And you know the most important factor in this are the people of Iran themselves,
04:04who have risked their lives and are willing to die for the cause of freedom.
04:08Why not, for once, after 47 years, abandon the idea of appeasement and negotiations,
04:13thinking that that will offer you a guarantee of stability,
04:16stability and bet on the Iranian people as the element that will bring in the element of stability,
04:22because we are committed to the same values of liberty and freedom as you are and enjoying it here in
04:26Europe.
04:27This regime doesn't.
04:28This regime executes everybody that stands for human rights and freedom in Iran.
04:32Europe has a tradition of standing with democracy and freedom.
04:35Why not today recognize that this regime will never be a reliable partner?
04:40It's only trying to buy time, take advantage of weakness in leadership and decision-making,
04:45whereas people every day are risking life and limb to say,
04:49we are your solution, why don't you come to our help?
04:52Because we are going to fight the fight.
04:54Help us get to a point that we can securely come back to the streets and reclaim our country.
04:58This is the specific elements that will make a difference in how soon Iran can be liberated,
05:03as opposed to drag the conflict even further.
